Women Donors NetworkMission: WDN is a community with a purpose. Together we connect, learn and take action to further our shared vision of a more just, equitable and sustainable world. As a community, WDN recognizes the systemic nature of the many challenges we face as a society. We are committed to using an intersectional lens - including race, class, gender and sexual orientation - throughout our work. WDN programs are designed to ignite change, providing donors with opportunities to support progressive movement-building as we deepen our knowledge, work in partnership with allies, and engage in nimble and strategic grantmaking. Brief: WDN began as Resourceful Women around 1990, and was formed because many of our early members had experienced exclusion from philanthropy in their families. Additionally, as progressives, many of our members also had mixed feelings about having wealth and were seeking a community of like-minded women with whom they could speak openly about having wealth, learn more about effective philanthropy and have more philanthropic impact by funding progressive causes collaboratively. |
